Family Safety Tips during Winter
The winter season indicates the coming of the greatest holiday season of the year. But sometimes, the extreme freezing temperature can bring problems and common ailments to your loved ones such as cold and fever.
But don’t be bothered. Below is a list of some safety tips to keep your loved ones comfortable, warm and protected during winter:
1. Apply sunscreen lotion onto your children’s delicate faces when going outside because 75% of harsh ultraviolet rays are reflected by the snow.
2. Wear not too tight winter clothes so you can move freely and comfortably. Don’t wear too tight footwear because it will restrict blood flow, causing the feet to feel colder.
3. Be cautious about picking clothes for outdoor. Using head, face, hands and neck protection can keep your kids warm. Also, avoid wearing cotton because it absorbs water and cold rapidly. Wear wool-made clothes for better insulation.
4. When planning for a road trip with your loved ones, make sure that your vehicle is ready for snow driving. As much as possible, bring first-aid kit, blankets, shovel and non-perishable snacks because no one knows when emergency will happen.
5. Practice safety when playing on the snow. If your kids want to try snowboarding or ice skating, hire a trainer to provide them basic lessons.
6. Make sure your house is well insulated. And use heating systems to normalize the temperature inside the room.
7. Cook healthy foods to help your children fight the cold and flu season and to reinforce their immune system.
