Below are some useful tips for first-time parents.

1. In handling your newborn, support his/her neck and back. And be careful not to shake your child because shaking may cause bleeding.

2. After feeding your baby with milk, always assist him/her to burp. Since feeding might cause air to be swallowed, your newborn might feel to throw up.

3. Bonding with your baby contributes to his/her emotional growth. In addition, massaging your newborn can help in his/her physical development. Just be careful in soothing your newborn because his/her muscles and bones are still fragile.

4. Change your baby's diaper regularly to avoid getting rashes. And if possible, let him/her undiapered for a while to let the skin to get some air.

5. When going to sleep, put your newborn on a dense, smooth mattress. Don't place soft or feathery stuffs such as pillows and stuffed toys because they may cause your newborn to suffocate.

6. After cleansing your newborn, wrap him/her with towel immediately. And always remember that don't leave your child alone in the wash room if you are going out even for a short time.
